BPS Aceh Besar Holds Passenger Exit Survey (PES) 2025 Data Collection

February 4, 2025 | BPS Activities

BPS Aceh Besar has been mandated by BPS RI to carry out the 2025 Passenger Exit Survey (PES) Data Collection. This survey aims to determine the profile of foreign tourists, as well as capture the phenomenon of activities and spending patterns of foreign tourists in Indonesia. Data collection will be carried out at airports and seaports, specifically in Aceh Province will be carried out at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Blang Bintang.

A number of preparations have been made by BPS Aceh Besar, including coordinating with the Banda Aceh Class I Immigration Office and PT Angkasa Pura II as the airport manager, as well as recruiting and training prospective data collectors. The survey will take place every month throughout 2025, with a target sample of 730 respondents. The survey will involve two data collectors and one supervisor/inspector.

Head of BPS Aceh Besar, Rusmadi Nisca, expects support from all parties, especially from the Immigration Office and PT Angkasa Pura II. ‘This survey is very important to find out the profile of foreign tourists, spending patterns, and impressions experienced by foreign tourists while in our region. The data generated by this PES can be utilised by the government, tourism actors, and the public in general. The government (especially the local governments of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh) can utilise the data for the development and structuring of the tourism sector.

Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh as areas with great tourism potential need to be managed properly, so that they can bring in more tourists in the future. For that, we need support from all parties, especially Immigration and PT Angkasa Pura II,’ he concluded.

With maximum support, it is hoped that this survey can run smoothly and provide valuable data for the development of the tourism sector in Aceh Province and Indonesia in general.
